The Scott Township Volunteer Fire Department’s purpose is to provide fire protection, medical services, public education and aid in other emergencies for persons and property in the area of Scott Township, Town of Darmstadt, Vanderburgh County, Indiana, and to aid other agencies on a mutual aid basis during time of need.  Our primary service area also includes Armstrong Township. Scott Township Fire Department strives to be trained, equipped, and ready to respond to:

• Fire emergencies, including those involving vehicles traveling on roads and highways;
  
• Hazardous materials incidents;
  
• Basic life support and advanced life support ambulance calls;
  
• Rescue needs in conjunction with the above activities, including vehicle extrication, elevated rescue, water rescue, and confined space rescue; and
  
• Fire prevention activities. We also work to educate the public as to hazards of fire and ways of minimizing them.
  

  As a combination department, employees and volunteers work together to provide services. We utilize a merit system for hiring, volunteer selection, and for offering advancement opportunities.
